My "Card" for Christmas 2000
'Twas the year before Christmas
When out of the blue
My brain circuits felt like
They all had the flu
I tried to keep pace
I kept moving my legs
To no avail, soon
My brain scrambled (like eggs)
The cats were all hungry
The apartment a mess
The artwork demanding
The writing, the STRESS
The cards kept on coming,
They pushed through the door
My mailbox was brimming
They fell to the floor!
I threw up my hands
(And my lunch, too, some days)
And gave up the fight
Till I got through the maze
On courage! On wisdom!
On two-thousand-one!
Another year over,
Another year done?
Although this is late
(My nerves are deep-fry)
Happy New Year to all
And to all a great sigh...
To turn back the clock
I think would be Heaven
From now on, you'll find us
In one-nine-five-seven.
Love, Paula and the Cats
